Class 1 - Unicorn

Class Unicorn is our reception and year one class and the teacher in Class Unicorn is Mrs Castell.

 

This is my sixth year working at Berriew CP School and my third year teaching Reception and Year 1! I have gained a vast amount of experience during my time at Berriew, however I have a real passion for Foundation Learning.

 

In Class Unicorn, we aim to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment for children to learn. All children will experience a wealth of activities and opportunities through which they will grow socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally. During their time with us, we aim to encourage the children to become ambitious and capable learners, who are confident in exploring the world around them. As part of our creative curriculum, we provide varied learning experiences all based around our topic which changes each term. We pay close attention to numeracy and literacy and we love to learn through play using adult led and child initiated experiences throughout the day. We have a large outside learning environment, which we use all through the year, no matter what the weather is doing!

 

We are very fortunate to have an on site Pre-School which many children attend before beginning their school journey with us at Berriew School.
